Are you an IT professional who is an expert with SCADA Information Management Systems and has IT supervisory experience? If so, this might be the role you've been looking for!
SPU has an opening for a SCADA IMS Supervisor to lead the utility's IT group. Serving as the face of SPU's IT group, you will engage end users to find out what their business needs are, provide leadership and expertise for the IMS system, and advise on the best uses for the system.
You will also serve as the liaison between IT, SPU Operations, King County Operations, State Department of Ecology, and other Federal Agencies for annual system planning. This position supervises three (3) Information Technology developers assigned to support the SCADA IMS System: an ITP-A Lead Developer, an ITP-B .NET Developer, and an ITP-C Systems Analyst.

As the SCADA IMS Supervisor, you will lead the day-to-day work of the Information Management System (IMS) Team. In this role, you're expected to provide leadership, navigation, and architectural design of our IMS Systems. Like all other IMS positions, the core function is communication.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Provide team leadership in handling the support required for the servers that host specific proprietary Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) historical data software.
  • Lead software installation and support of this proprietary software (Wonderware, SQL Server, Information Server, SQL Reporting Services, etc.). This work requires extensive knowledge of the proprietary software and how the utility will be applying the software.
  • Conduct oversight of the installation and deployment of these applications as well as the security and management of the system accesses.
  • Upgrade applications as needed, using Visual Studio. Most of the applications and services are written in Visual Basic.
  • Lead all IMS SCADA web portal applications and services.
  • Review all users' enhancement requests for completeness and for validity. Meet with the users to define any ambiguity found in the request.
  • Meet with customers to discuss new projects, support and maintenance of existing services, feature requests, problems, and overall satisfaction.
  • Architect the Solution to the problem presented by user enhancement requests.
  • Configure systems to support new sites, reports, and processes that provide desired outcomes, per the users' request, technical analysis, and functional design.

OR
Education/Experience Equivalency of 7+ years of relevant experience.
Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience including prior supervisory experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with Wonderware
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience
This position allows for the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. Employees will be required to come into the office twice a week. Individual schedules will be agreed upon by the employee and their supervisor.

The full salary range for this position is: $108,346.32 - $162,529.92
