This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 6:00am - 7:00pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be aligned with your schedule.

  • All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review provider invoices: match invoices to Optum orders, check amount billed versus contracted rates, review status of orders invoiced, print provider fee schedules, and investigate balance forwards or aged invoices.
  • Field incoming calls from providers and internal departments to provide payment details, explanation of payment, and more.
  • Determine if follow up communication is needed.
  • Approval of provider invoices: provider information and billed versus contracted rates are verified, and approved provider invoices are submitted for payment.
  • Provider payments are monitored by the Accounts Payable Supervisor through various reports.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED OR 2+ years of accounting experience
  • 1+ years of related accounting experience, including accounts payable procedures and practices
  • 6+ months of experience with incoming calls from providers and internal departments to provide payment details, explanation of payment, and more
  • Must be 18 years old OR older
  • Ability to work full-time, Monday - Friday between 6:00am - 7:00pm CST including the flexibility to work occasional overtime given the business need

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ months of successful experience in an environment requiring accuracy and attention to detail
  • National Career Readiness Certificate

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

  • Intermediate level data entry and organization skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to handle corporate documents confidentially
  • Ability to determine if follow up communication is needed
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong oral and written communications skills

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Washington or Rhode Island Residents Only: The hourly range for California / Colorado / Connecticut / Hawaii / Nevada / New York / New Jersey / Washington / Rhode Island residents is $16.54 - $32.55 per hour.
