About this role:
The SBA Commercial Loan Officer will own the relationship and the process from prospect handshake to borrower 12-month loan review and is expected to use sound judgment to keep the Bank's best interest in mind when making decisions. Decisions should be well supported by facts and Borrower representations should be supported by proper documentation and due diligence. Specific areas of focus should include, but are not limited to, SBA loan eligibility, SBA loan structure, credit analysis, character assessment, due diligence and documentation.
In this role you will:

• Support the Bank's "People First" focus and rules of engagement-maintaining a professional demeanor, working as an active member of the CNOB team, providing all clients excellent service, always striving to make CNOB "A Better Place to Be".
• The SBA Commercial Loan Officer's responsibility is the origination of SBA 7a loans consistent with Bank policy and SBA Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
• Pre-screen leads for SBA eligibility and general creditworthiness per CNOB loan policy and SBA SOP.
• The CNOB SBA group uses Spark as its processing platform. SBA LO is required to use Spark.
• Perform sufficient credit related due diligence and financial statement analysis so as to understand and evaluate credit risk.
• Negotiate terms acceptable to customer and to CNOB.
• Collect and assess all required documents and forms per the CNOB SBA Lending Process Checklist.
• Reasonably ensure compliance with all Bank Policy, SBA SOP, Fair Lending, CRA and HMDA requirements.
• Maintaining transaction pipeline (Spark).

Must haves:

• Strong "People First" interest and ability.
• Application of SBA Standard Operating Procedure.
• Knowledge of federal banking regulations and Bank security and safety practices.
• Consultative selling.
• Knowledge of relevant Federal and State banking regulations.
• Time management, organization, and communication (written and oral) skills.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well independently and with others.
• Ability to meet or exceeds budget goals.
• Ability to adhere to all deadlines.
• Maintain customer Privacy in and out of the office.

Bonus Points For:

• Formal Bank Credit Training.
• Prior experience as an SBA Loan Originator, Loan Officer, Analyst
• 3-5 years of commercial lending experience.
• Bachelors degree.
