SUMMARY
This is a Vice President level position is responsible for all of the responsibilities of a SBA Senior Closer II as well as the Team Leader Responsibilities. The ideal candidate must have extensive SBA experience with supervisory responsibilities. Multiple Industry verticals is required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 4-year degree or equivalent work experience required
- Previous supervisory experience required
- Previous Audit or compliance experience required
- Fifteen or more years of SBA loan origination experience
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of SBA loan closing requirements with a comprehensive knowledge of federal and state regulations
- Ability to coordinate diverse tasks simultaneously within stringent time frames
- Excellent documentation and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Excellent understanding of title reports, lien searches, lease documentation, equity injection, and acquisition documentation
- Participate in all required SBA and Bank compliance training (including but not limited to NAGGL, Bank Secrecy Act, etc.), as well as Company annual meetings. Lead training if needed.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Uphold the Role of Proxy for the SBA Closing Manager in her absence
- Assist Closing Manager in performing pre-closing file reviews
- Train and on-board all new SBA Closers and newly approved bank legal counsel
- Field and/or provide guidance to address any questions posed by Closers, Processors, Sales, Underwriting, Servicing
- Assist or be a Leader in the Operations Division (packaging, operations, and boarding questions or guidance)
- Independently manage a large loan pipeline from origination through closing in accordance with SBA SOP, as well as Bank policies and procedures
- Responsible for all aspects of SBA loan origination in accordance with Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, as well as the SBA’s SOP
- Ensure all required loan conditions (insurance, collateral, formation, equity, etc.) are met and properly documented in compliance with SBA and Bank policies. For 504 loans, include CDC Debenture Coordinator to ensure their closing conditions have been met
- Communicate with borrowers the loan documentation needs, in addition to the collection and review of same for accuracy and compliance
- Coordinate with Underwriter any loan modifications during the closing process, as needed
- Work closely with underwriting, bank attorneys, third-party vendors (i.e. insurance agents) and borrowers to prepare closing conditions and items needed to schedule/close the loan. For 504 loans, include CDC Debenture Coordinator
- Excellent communication skills between all points of contact. Managing closing expectations and productivity of all parties to meet expectations
- Ensure deadlines are met
- Adhere to all SBA SOPs, Bank regulations as well as State and Federal requirements
- Ensures all pre and post-closing document issues are resolved within a timely manner
- Assist Post-Closing Division (perform Post-Close Audit and follow up for documentation (as requested by Post-Close Division)
- Assist in all SBA Division Audits (i.e. Internal Audits, OCRM, Powell, FDIC, Flood, CRA, etc.)
- Maintain closing procedures manual
- Update closing division on new SBA Regulations and/or Bank Policies
- Attend Team Leader meetings/conference calls
- Sign SBA Documents on behalf of the Bank
- Take on Department projects as requested
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
