Responsibilities:

- Operate and maintain a Cooper Scragg Crosstie Sawmill

- Perform sawmill-related tasks according to specifications

- Assess and interpret crosstie logs in raw material form for quality assurance and efficiency standards

- Understand proper measurements and dimensions of raw material and sawn crosstie product classes

- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area

- Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals

- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment alonside millwright

Qualifications:

- Previous experience operating sawmill machinery in a manufacturing or warehouse environment

- Proficiency in using power tools and other equipment relevant to the job

- Knowledge of crosstie sawmill operations and raw material log assessments

- Ability to understand grade and length specifications of finished crossties

- Strong attention to detail and ability to measure accurately using operational tools

- Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing and/or sawmill setting

- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 48 per week
