Who We Are:
Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 serves nearly 15,500 students in preschool through grade 12 and is located halfway between Chicago, Illinois, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan. The District has one early learning center, 15 elementary schools, five middle schools, and a high school program divided between two 9 - 12th grade campuses. The District encompasses portions of Waukegan, Beach Park, and Park City.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be present with students during all instructional and supervisory times
- Provide reading and math instruction for Newcomers
- Provide instruction and support to students following a prescribed curriculum and curricular materials; implement instructional routines and learning strategies as outlined in curriculum and as presented in professional development sessions
- Administer a pre-test and post-test
- Progress monitor and record student growth using pre and post tests
- Submit daily attendance
- Communicate with parents as necessary and as required
- Provide student supervision as required during student arrival dismissal times
- Attend mandatory professional development
- Represent the District to outside shareholders in a professional and supportive manner;
- Complete and maintain all required records
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Illinois Professional Educators License with ESL endorsement required, BL endorsement preferred, plus appropriate certification for High School
- Teaching experience for the grade level is preferred
Salary: 4 hours per session based on current hourly wages for teachers.
Dates: September 30- May 11, 2024
3 Saturdays per month 8:15 am-12:15 pm (45 mins.planning)
