Summary
Simplot is on a transformational journey to deliver value to our customers now and in the future. This journey includes a company-wide multi-year Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software implementation. Using the agile methodology, the implementation is following a business-by-business release cadence focused on collaboration, continuous improvement, and stakeholder engagement.
We are seeking a skilled Program Manager/Agile Release Train Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing at least one Agile Release Train (ART) within our ERP implementation organization. You will work closely with cross-functional, technical, and data teams to ensure the successful delivery of identified software products and services pertaining to individual businesses within the J.R Simplot Company. You will serve as a mentor and coach to the teams to help them to achieve their goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Agile Release Train(s) (ART)/deployment to ensure successful delivery of software products, services, and/or data
- Collaborate with product management, development teams, data teams, and stakeholders to prioritize and manage backlog items to ensure the commitments made to the business unit(s) are achieved
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by facilitating agile ceremonies such as PI Planning, Sprint Planning, and Retrospectives with a focus on a particular business unit(s)
- Coach and mentor team members to ensure adherence to Agile principles and practices
- Drive accountability and transparency by ensuring metrics are regularly tracked and reported
- Identify and manage risks and impediments to the ART's/deployment’s success
- Communicate ART/deployment status and progress to executive leadership and other stakeholders aligned to a particular business unit(s)
- Facilitate communication and coordination between departments within the organization
Typical Education
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) from 4-year college or university
Relevant Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software and/or data development program management, preferably with at least 2 years in an Agile
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, principles, and practices
- Experience leading cross-functional and technical teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of software development tools and practices, such as Azure DevOps, Microsoft, etc.
