What you'll do:
Position title: SAP iXp Intern - Developer Experience
Location: Newport Beach, California, USA
Expected start date to end date: April 1, 2024 - September 30, 2024 (6 months)
Generative AI (genAI) evolved a lot in the past years and developer tools like GitHub Copilot are becoming commonplace in modern development organizations. However, genAI bears potential for many other use cases along the entire software development lifecycle and value stream (incl. product management and user experience design roles as well as for cloud software operations / DevOps). This internship project aims at identifying, consolidating and prototyping one of the most promising use cases for SAP.
Tasks for you include requirements engineering starting with user research in SAP development teams. Moreover, you will be part of a larger, global and cross-development unit team, but responsible for the respective detailed software design and PoC development for one or a family of specific use cases. The work will also include evaluating the potential impact for SAP in terms of productivity, job satisfaction and / or other benefits for an organization while taking common product standards and architecture guidelines into account.

Bachelor in Computer Science at a top STEM university
Outstanding grades and academic referrals
Experience in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) as well as
Commercial Software Development and Cloud Operations
Position requirements
A solid understanding of the entire cloud software development lifecycle incl. DevOps
A data-driven, systemic thinking, and continuous improvement mindset
Ability to solve complex topics and drive results across board areas at SAP
Excellent team player and collaboration skills
Excellent communication skills with strong empathy
Fluency in English language (both written and spoken)

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP's commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the hourly base salary rate range applicable for the posted role. The targeted range for this position is 15 - 62 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidates will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process.
