Location: San Antonio, TX
Set up: Hybrid (3 times work-from-home and 2 days onsite)
Contract Duration: 1 year (possibility of extension/being permanent)
JOB DESCRIPTION
The SAP industry solution for Utilities (IS-U) Functional Analyst provides application support in Customer Care & Services (CCS), Finance & Contract Account (FICA), Device Management, Invoicing, related modules, and other integrated systems. Support includes SAP configuration, general maintenance, report/query development, and other similar activities. The analyst role will be responsible for working closely with the end user and development team to shape and drive a delivery plan for projects and maintenance support by attending discovery meetings or workshops to assist and provide SAP design, documenting specifications, build tests, deploying, and support activities along with other systems to ensure the SAP solution provided to end-user satisfies the business and project requirements. Work closely with third-party integration support like Mobile Data Systems (MDS), Outage Management System (OMS), Energy IP, and other related applications to identify updates and gaps. Ability to lead, plan, and conduct projects and assignments.

Tasks and Responsibilities
- Responsible for functional maintenance, configuration, and development support for SAP IS -U Modules, Plant Maintenance, and related integrated systems (Mobile Data System (MDS), Outage Management System (OMS), Geographical Information System (GIS), and AMI Energy IP/UIQ, Logica ARM including table updates, general maintenance, report/query development, and similar activities
- Support Kubra Applications for Bill Print, EZ Pay IVR/Web payments, Document Template Manager letters, and vendor maintenance tickets
- Design and develop complete SAP solutions to meet end-user or project requirements
- Maintain plant maintenance configuration e.g. work centers, work orders, IDoc processing & corrections.
- Support business functions with Geographical information systems (GIS) for annexation boundary and other updates in SAP
- Familiarization with the regional structure and address certification from USPS on contract accounts using CASS.
- Complete functional specifications for new or existing development or reporting
- Assist in the development of project business cases or all required project documentation
- Participate in testing at all levels (unit, integration, regression / negative testing, user acceptance)
- Help end users understand system and process capabilities
- Maintain update-to-date functional knowledge relating to SAP functionality and associated business processes
- Assist Basis teams and end users in supporting (routine) daily and monthly transaction/batch processing
- Log and track problem and development requests including message handling and dispatching, resolution tracking, and problem escalation (via Cherwell Service Management Software)
- Analyze and resolve potentially complex application/system issues
- Utilize a variety of resources to resolve questions and problems, including working with consultants, self-help, ASUG networks, OSS, etc.
- Review the latest SAP developments and/or information related to modules, support packs, and OSS notes relevant to Energy
- Provide on-call support
- Other duties and special projects as assigned by management
- Core responsibilities focus on strategic as well as operational/tactical aspects of the organization
- May provide work direction to subordinates within the context of assigned projects
- Plans and assigns lower-level analysts to given projects or tasks
- Under limited supervision, leads, plans, conducts assignments, and implementation support efforts
- Operates with substantial latitude for independent action in setting objectives and deciding how to proceed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or applicable business degree from an accredited university OR Relevant business technical experience
- Experience in Information Technology or a related area
- Hands-on IMG / configuration capability
- Experience with one or more SAP modules or IS-U related functions and related systems –Customer Care& Services (CCS), Financial & Contract Account (FICA), Device Management, SAP AMI, Rates and Invoicing
- Direct Experience defining processes using SAP core transactions, and recommending SAP best practices
- Knowledge of integration points between and within modules of expertise
- Basic understanding of available user exits / BADIs in the module of experience
- Ability to read ABAP code and understand the basic logic and commands
- Experience in R/3 version 4.6C or above is required. Experience in ECC 6.0 preferred.
- Experience in providing end-user support services for an SAP ERP or similar computing environment
- Capable of understanding, revising, and implementing prescribed changes to an SAP computing environment, following ITIL or similar service support processes
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools like MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
- This is the highest level subject matter/functional expert and may include limited supervisory responsibilities
- Decisions have a significant impact on costs, time, or public/employee goodwill (e.g. delays in important projects or schedules)
