Sanitation Tech

The Sanitation Tech is key to the continued assurance that our products meet the standards that are necessary in a nut free facility that produces allergen free foods. The tech will clean and sanitize equipment, infrastructure, and grounds inside and outside of a food production facility.

Responsibilities:

• Complete required training for sanitation and janitorial functions to the specified standards.
• Clean the production areas, breakroom, restrooms, locker rooms, laboratories, and office areas a) Remove and dispose of trash. b) Clean and sanitize equipment with approved chemicals. c) Manually clean equipment using brushes and other tools. d) Perform final pre-operational inspections. e) Clean floors, walls, shelves, furniture, and other areas and items as directed.
• Disassemble, reassemble, clean, and sanitize machine parts.
• Immediately report all food safety issues to a lead or member of management.
• Perform master sanitation cleaning activities.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Ensure compliance with all requirements of the Gathered Foods environmental, health, and safety programs and policies.
• Perform routine inventory cycle counts of the cleaning and sanitation chemicals.
• Maintain log sheets for tracking the cleaning and sanitation chemical inventories and usage quantities.
• Conduct required pre-operative inspections to ensure equipment and facility is clean prior to starting production.
• Ensure the cleanliness of the factory exterior.
• Perform other sanitation and janitorial duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience working in a food manufacturing facility.
• Previous sanitation experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred, but not necessary.
• Ability to frequently reach and grasp with hands and arms and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

Temperature controlled food processing plant. The temperature in the plant is kept at 40 degrees Fahrenheit. This position may involve sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods of time. PPE includes hairnet, footwear, lab coat, etc. Provided and required to be worn any time you are within the production area. This is a nut free facility.
