We are looking for a 1st and 2nd shift Sanitation Janitor. The Sanitation Janitor will have full responsibilities of the janitorial duties for the plant. The janitor will ensure the efficient and effective cleaning of production equipment and adjacent areas, in addition to other environments, following approved sanitary methods are completed.
Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for maintaining building housekeeping standards. Areas include but not limited to bathrooms, offices, hallways, welfare area, yard, windows flooring, countertops, lunchroom, refrigerators, etc.
• Clean, vacuums, dusts, scrub and waxes all surfaces, (i.e. floor, carpeting, upholstery, cubicles etc.) for interior areas using established procedures and cleaning supplies. Clean restrooms daily.
• Replenish routine supplies for restrooms and other common work areas on a routine basis.
• Empty wastebaskets and trash containers and help to sort recycling materials as well as transporting waste to disposal area daily.
• Performs other duties and assists in special projects as required.
• Responsible for maintaining and emptying the external garbage cans for all facilities.
• Perform varying tasks while standing, lifting, crouching, etc. during long periods of time.
• Follow routine verbal and written instructions.
• Follow procedures for handling, storing, moving and using chemical cleaners, in accordance with plant SOP's.
• Notify supervisor concerning the need for supplies.
• Set up, arrange, and remove production tables, chairs, to prepare facilities for pre and/or post operations.
• Other jobs as assigned.
Position Qualifications
• 1 year experience in food, beverage or processing/manufacturing environment.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be able to work overtime and weekends.
• Sanitation experience preferred.
Pay range is $17.56-$21.00
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Requirements are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.)
• Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 pounds repetitively, while using proper lifting techniques.
• Must be able to stand, walking for extended periods of time up to 12 hours a day.
• Exposure to temperatures that range from freezing to sub-freezing 30°F to 60°F (coolers, freezers, etc.)
• Must be able to climb stairs, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach at, above and below shoulders. Repetitive use of hands.
