Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a valid Louisiana Sanitarian's license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Examiners for Sanitarians plus five years of professional level Sanitarian experience, one year of which must have been at the supervisory level or above.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
A master's degree in public health, food science, dairy science, environmental or sanitary science, one of the physical or biological sciences will substitute for one year of the required general experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess and maintain a valid Louisiana driver's license and be able to drive a vehicle to perform duties.
Positions in the Molluscan Shellfish program require that applicants complete the Louisiana Boating Education program and be certified by the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.

Manages the preparation of enforcement documents.
Establishes Standard Operating Procedures in order to assure the most efficient, effective, and professional delivery of services and benefits to the public consistent with goals and objectives of the Sanitarian Services Section.
Answers correspondence, writes reports, prepares memos and responds to telephone inquiries within a region, related to multiple public health and environmental consumer protection and program policies, regulations, and staff activities, renders interpretations of the State Sanitary Code.
Supervises the implementation of quality control and quality assurance procedures.
Conducts interviews to fill professional level vacancies within the Department.
Responsible for personnel management and development; performs training activities as needed.
