The primary responsibility for this position it to proactively solicit sales of new business and to identify bid opportunities. Also, to help with: maintaining a bid calendar, plan and specification review, vendor quote coordination, plan holder communications, and estimate preparation. This position is vital to the acquisition, development and success of every project undertaken by Aptus Group USA.

Job responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

• Locate and solicite new work opportunities through Salesforce contacts, trade magazines, websites, vendors and cold calling
• Gather project bidding information through the use of Onvia, GradeBeam, Reed Report, Bid-X, the web, industry periodicals, telemarketing and other data mining tools
• Get a comprehensive understanding of SalesForce software and help keep database organized as projects are bid, awarded, or lost
• Help maintain a monthly bid calendar
• Acquire, download or gather construction plans and specifications for projects fitting our construction and/or materials bid scope
• Coordinate and expedite communications with plan holders on projects we intend to bid through a Statement of Interest letter, company brochures, and phone and email communications
• With direction from Sales, acquire, download or gather construction plans and specifications for projects fitting our construction and/or materials bid scope
• Assist Estimating and Sales to gain full understanding or project plans, specifications, and means and methods
• Communicate with plan holders regarding bid and construction questions
• Solicit quotes from vendors and subcontractors for bid preparation
• Assist fellow Estimators with preparation and review of estimates
• Coordinate and expedite the preparation and review of construction submittals/shop drawings with vendors and track to completion
• Monitor and update submittal and quotation logs
• Work seamlessly between sales/estimating and project managers as projects are handed off for Construction
• Assist Project Managers with customer, vendor and subcontractor communications
