Job description

The Sales Training Manager is integral to building extraordinary customer experience and high-performing sales teams. Ben Bridge Jeweler has more than 110 years history in a family-led team of excellence. Your primary mission will be to partner with our Sales Leadership, Merchandise team and Training department to develop training and coaching with a focus on our rich heritage, our company differentiators, expertise, product knowledge and the guest experience. We are looking for someone who can develop and deliver training programs that enhance team members' skills and knowledge, align with the company's values and standards and contribute to the organization overall.The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs to enhance the capabilities of our store personnel. Critical to this role's success is blending customer experience, brand storytelling, product knowledge, selling, and communication skills to strengthen sales and customer retention performance. The learning content must support the company's initiatives surrounding sales strategies and key category sales.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research to become an expert on luxury brands and their process for customer experience and sales performance. Stay informed about new products, industry trends, and sales tools. Including but not limited to Salesfloor and Podium.
  • Collaborate with Merchandise and Sales teams to identify and discuss business needs and sales performance.
  • Create training for the Ben Bridge proprietary brands and identify and highlight the intrinsic differentiators of shopping at Ben Bridge.Develop training programs that support Company, Sales Leadership and Merchandise objectives and brand partner requirements.
  • Periodically, work a scheduled shift as a salesperson in various stores.
  • Provide tools and training to store managers on how to coach for increased sales and experience.
  • Partner with Education Training Manager to plan manager meeting and other leadership content and events.
  • Prepare regional training modules and periodically present them to groups. Create and maintain online training modules in the LMS.
  • Support brand partner training approaches, materials, and delivery methods, including but not limited to the coordination of scheduling in-store and virtual training.
  • Schedule, plan, organize, facilitate, and order supplies for training events.
  • Develop metrics for success in measuring the impact of training.
  • Conduct follow-up studies of completed training to evaluate/measure results, including summary and suggested next steps to stake holders.
  • Partner with the Sales Leadership or Buying teams to create and administer sales contests.
  • Develop and monitor spending against the departmental budget.
  • Manage mystery shopper program, including identifying stores, developing questions, reviewing shopper results with sales leadership, assisting with next steps, and negotiating contracts.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Learning and Development, Education, Retail Management or related field, or a minimum of 5 years of experience in a sales related role such as sales associate, sales manager and/or sales trainer in lieu of degree
  • 3+ years of experience in Sales Training or corporate training.
  • Well versed in Adult Learning Theory and how to engage adult learners using a variety of activities.
  • Registered Jeweler or equivalent a plus.
  • Technologically adept and proficient in Microsoft 365 programs.
  • Comfortable hosting a virtual meeting via Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.
  • Experience with eLearning software or an LMS is a preferred.

  • Must have exceptional communication and facilitation skills, both verbal and written, with the proven ability to communicate with all levels of the organization. This includes a strong ability to build cross-functional partnerships across all levels and functions.
  • Dynamic "on stage" presence, ability to command a room, in person or virtually, of adult learners with different backgrounds and skill levels. Ability to break down complex information into smaller organized components.
  • Curious and passionate about contributing, with a keen interest in brands and luxury experiences.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as an active team player.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality in training materials.
  • Possess a keen ability to identify connections between behavior and results.
  • Demonstrated consultative style with the ability to be definitive and directive.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with an ability to strategically work on multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Adapt quickly and easily to new situations. Able to adapt training methods to accommodate various learning styles.

Working Standards:
  • This role is based at the corporate office in Seattle, WA, and operates in a professional office environment. The associate routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, smartphones, photocopiers, and other presentation materials and tools. Periodic preparation for events may include lifting/moving boxes, tables, and other event items.
  • Works with teams in store up to ten (10) days per month.
  • When not in stores, they work a hybrid schedule - with a minimum of three scheduled days in the office.
  • May require working on weekend as needed
  • Up to 50% travel in the US.

Range: $81,600 - $102,000 per year
Fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience levels, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
The full-time schedule is designed to provide flex staffing during key events and peak selling times.As a full-time associate, you will be eligible for health and welfare benefits in addition to an annual bonus.
