Position Overview
As the Sales Supervisor, you will train, lead and supervise direct reports in the assigned location(s) and sell products and services in order to satisfy company objectives.
Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities

  • Supports Sales Manager with overseeing location operations, including staffing, training, inventory management, finance, systems, and facilities to drive revenue growth and accomplish financial objectives.
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures to manage P&L responsibilities.
  • Executes strategies to meet or exceed sales goals, achieve KPIs, and appropriately handle customer issues.
  • Supports Sales Manager to Maintain and utilize up-to-date knowledge about the markets served, customers, vendors, and competitors to drive successful operations.
  • Supports Sales Manager to direct channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing and assigning sales territories, quotas, and goals and addressing routing optimization.
  • Directs sales forecasting activities and reviews/analyzes sales data to set performance goals and promote sales in assigned area.
  • Manages development and retention of DSD accounts for assigned area through a sales team.
  • Manages the activities of the DSD team in assigned area, including but not limited to, maintain relationships that grow our business, achieving established performance scorecards, handling customer issues, developing sales within accounts, analyzing and controlling department expenditures, preparing sales reports, implementing process improvements, participating in trade shows
  • Meets primarily with key customers (large, complex and/or at risk), assists sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
  • Prepares sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Collaborates with other departments within the organization to support overall company goals.
  • Responsible for building, developing, and retaining talent necessary to drive a high-performance sales team, along with ensuring succession planning is in place.
  • Aligns with Sales Manager to establish long-term and short-term goals for teams and individuals and uses data to measure and monitor sales processes, identify issues, and enhance performance.
  • Participates in daily activities of staff and may determine route coverage.
  • Ensures safe behaviors (driving, warehouse, etc) are being practiced and strives to ensure that safety goals are achieved for all sales positions.
  • Conducts warehouse walk-throughs as necessary.
  • Attends and networks at trade association meetings to promote product and company; may be required to coordinate or lead special event occurring on weekend and/or nights
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  • May be requested to perform different or additional duties as assigned

Position Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field from four-year university preferred
  • 3 years of management or supervisory experience in a sales environment
    • Experience with Community Coffee, even if unrelated, may fulfill this requirement at the discretion of the hiring manager with approval from Human Resources.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid Driver's license: a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required for vehicles 26,000 lbs or greater.
  • Acceptable driving record
  • DOT medical certification
  • COVID vaccination
  • Successful completion of pre-employment physical
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and handheld point-of-sale computer systems preferred

  • Knowledge of syndicated sources (e.g., AC Nielsen, IRI, CCT+, Home Scan) used in the analysis of trending market, customer, consumer and dollar/volume dynamics.
  • Ability to listen and empathize in order to effectively collaborate with breadth of stakeholders.
  • Elevated EQ/Diplomacy to enable navigating broad system stakeholders

  • Field Sales Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be moderately loud in warehouse areas.
