Sales Representative

Role and Responsibilities

The Sales Representative will play a pivotal role in driving sales and revenue for our company. You will greet customers looking for a new or used boat or pontoon. You will be the expert on the brands that we carry to educate the customers. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated representative to join our team. This position will also have the following responsibilities:

• Showcase the dealership’s new and used inventory and explain features and warranties.
• Engage all customers entering the store in a friendly and timely manner.
• Meet with potential customers to determine their boating needs. Provide information necessary to allow the customer to make an informed buying decision.
• Answer customer questions about boats, pontoons, electronics, trolling motors, accessories, financing, and the purchase process.
• Identify potential customers through research, networking, and other lead generation methods.
• Build relationships with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
• Conduct product demonstrations to showcase the benefits of the different product lines.
• Maintains current product knowledge by using available resources, i.e., product brochures, Internet, and product information training resources.
• Maintains awareness of advertised items, current pricing structures and promotions.
• Assist potential customers inquiring about engines and trailers to upgrade existing equipment.
• Works cooperatively with the Service Department to see that delivery to the customer is seamless.
• Maintains complete confidentiality of all sensitive & personal information.
• Manage the entire sales process from initial contact to closing deals.
• Negotiate pricing and terms to achieve mutually beneficial agreements.
• Schedule includes working Saturday’s.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and skills

• Previous experience in boat, car or powersports sales preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers.
• Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities to close deals effectively.
• Self-motivated, results oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Knowledge of boats, electronics and trolling motors is preferred.
• Computer skills preferred.
• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
• Love of the outdoors, fishing and boating helpful.
