Job Title: Sales RepresentativeEntry Level.
Department: Sales.
Reports to: VP of Sales.
Education and/or Certification Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent Required.
Experience Required: At least one year of employment experience.
Salary Range: $55,000 – $70,000
FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Overview
This role actively seeks out and engages customer prospects. It provides complete and appropriate solutions for every customer in order to boost top-line revenue growth, customer acquisition levels and profitability.
Responsibilities and Duties Required:

  • Conduct outbound calls to prospective customers to generate leads and new business opportunities.
  • Receive inbound calls and responding to customer inquiries about products, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers to ensure repeat business and identify upsell opportunities.
  • Create and send quotes, proposals, and sales orders to customers.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse and logistics team to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
  • Collaborate with outside Sales Representatives to provide support and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Keep up to date with the latest industry trends, product knowledge, best practices, promotional trends, and pricing to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, and training sessions to continue learning about the industry and expand their network.
  • Present, promote and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers.
  • Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs.
  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
  • Reach out to customer leads through cold calling.
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction.
  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule.
  • Coordinate sales efforts with team members and other departments.
  • Analyze the territory/market’s potential, track sales and status reports.
  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • Continuously improve through feedback.
  • Schedule take-offs with estimators for projects send in by customers.
  • Enter orders for sales personnel.
  • Work with dispatch on delivery coordination.
  • Track down material costs, availability, alternates, freight, or any other information needed by sales personnel or customers.
  • Communicate and develop relationships with Vendor personnel.
  • Work with Central Purchasing on quotes and orders.
  • Always on the lookout for new products.
  • Price job bids and quotes.
  • Develop an understanding of our competition and their alliances with vendors.
  • Coordinate submittal packages creation and review each of the submittal packages for accuracy, logic, etc.
  • Coordinate dissemination of returned submittals and responding to any action items.
  • Coordinate the storage of all inbound and outbound submittal data.
  • Ensure that the submittal file is up to date, logical and orderly.
  • Print and sort Project plans and Specs.
  • Index and store electronic and hard copies of project documents.
  • Communicate with Vendors to request quotes, product info and submittal data.
  • Communicate with inside and outside salespeople, product managers and purchasing staff.
  • Work within the ISQFT Construction News and Virtual Plan Room daily
  • Perform detailed material estimates on various commercial, road/bridge (CDPT) and municipal projects at the direction of supervisor.
  • Prepare materials lists from project plans and specs, perform material take-offs, process and send vendor quotes.
  • Work closely with our salespeople and purchasing staff to ensure that we have the right product mix to meet our customer expectations and maximize sales and profitability.
  • Communicate daily with Engineers, architects, and contractors.
  • Gather and organize project submittal data.
  • Provide assistance to the Products area for support as well as inside sales incoming call support as needed.
  • Monitor, maintain, develop, and operate internal systems and software as needed.
  • Responsible for keeping costs down, while maintaining the quality of the service.
  • Develop an extensive knowledge and insights into projects.
  • Evaluate internal processes to assure best practices are being utilized and provide suggestions as requested to improve these.
  • Develop effective automated and non-automated systems.
  • Collaborates with members of the team and others as needed.
  • Use approved software and company processes and procedures to perform work.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
  • Proven work experience as a Sales Representative preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Familiarity with BRM and CRM practices along with ability to build productive business professional relationships.
  • Database experience preferred.
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales.
  • Excellent selling, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs,
  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback.

  • Must be able to perform complex tasks requiring independent knowledge and its application to non-routine situations.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
  • May be exposed to dust, fluctuation in inside temperatures and electro-magnetic radiation as in a computer screen.
  • Working in close proximity to others in an office environment.

Visual Acuity:
  • Visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected.
