Robert Half is working with an incredible client in the West Metro area to fill a Sales Operations Manager position. This pivotal leadership role involves guiding the entire lifecycle of new business opportunities. From the initial screening of prospects to the submission and follow-up of approved quotes, the Sales Operations Manager ensures seamless processes. Responsibilities extend to overseeing product pricing during the quoting process to maintain acceptable pricing/margins and ensuring compliance with customer contracts in alignment with company requirements.
- Lead process training for personnel and provide support in developing training tools for various stakeholders.
- Supervise assigned personnel and collaborate with other functions to achieve job objectives.
- Oversee the initial screening and project approval process, ensuring a strategic and technical match before authorizing internal activities for new product opportunities.
- Implement a closed-loop process, from initial engineering work authorization through quotation submittal, quote follow-up, and comprehensive tracking of wins and losses.
- Manage the quote process with assigned personnel, ensuring timely submission and acceptable margins for customer quotes, covering both new product opportunities and requotes for existing products.
- Ensure contract terms for products and services meet customer and company requirements to secure or retain business.
- Participate in the negotiation process and coordinate the approval of amendments and/or contract extensions.
- Advise relevant department personnel on domestic and international contractual rights and obligations.
- Participate in the review of revenue forecasts for key customer accounts, assisting with SIOP operational planning objectives.
- Identify delinquent projects and barriers to completion, participating in planning and implementing effective corrective action plans.
- Direct department staff to fulfill company/department goals and drive continuous improvements.
- For selected projects, coordinate or manage initial presentations, proposals, communication plans, and schedules.
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related technical field.
- 3-5 years of customer service management/supervisory experience, preferably in manufacturing and familiarity with ISO regulatory environment.
- Candidates must be familiar with and adhere to the ITAR.
- Capable of effectively managing and/or collaborating with technical personnel.
- Customer-focused with excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to perform well under pressure.
- Demonstrates strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
- Willingness to be "hands-on" while coordinating/supervising various activities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software is required.
