Purpose
The Sales Manager - Moulding and Millwork will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing Roseburg's value-added composites business. They will provides sales leadership on Roseburg's moulding, millwork & value-added businesses. As the Sales Manager - Moulding and Millwork, this individual will be responsible for meeting sales goals, contributing to composites product segment profitability, client relationships, assist in the leadership of the composites sales organization and collaboration with operations and logistics to meet business objectives.
This position is directly responsible for leading the value-added business and sales team with training and tactical objectives to support the organization. The goal is to ensure the composites sales team meets its commitments to its customers and the organization. The measurement of success will be the financial and organizational health of the value-added composites business.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement specific pricing programs and strategies that fit within the overall composite businesses and pricing strategies / policies.
    • Maintain updated costing files formatted in conjunction with the Sales Analyst.
    • Maintain price list and deviation policies in conjunction with the Sales Analyst.
    • Develop guidelines and levels of responsibility for other managers.
  • Develop and implement product line offerings and strategies for value added segment of the business.
    • Create a well-defined product offering that is in-line with the plants limitations and capabilities and fits well within our composites strategy.
    • Educate the entire sales team in their business specific products.
    • Work with Plant Managers, Controllers, and other Sales Managers and Product managers to develop new products that fit the plants capabilities and meet market needs or specific customer needs.
  • Lead the commercialization of new product launches for value added composites.
  • Work with the Marketing to grow brand awareness of our products, to include advertising, literature, sample programs, architectural specifications support, etc.
  • Maintain strong, high level, relationships with key customers.
  • Develop business plans and strategies in conjunction with the Director and other Sales Managers.
  • Work with other Sales Managers to align the right products/customers at the right mill.
  • With all aspects of this role the Sales Manager must work with and communicate with the Composites Director to make sure all strategies and policies (pricing, products, marketing, and etc) are in-line with the overall business strategy or plan.
  • Management of the outside value add sales team in coordination with the composites national Sales Manager.
  • Perform all administrative functions, including but not limited to; reviews, budget development and maintenance, expense management, compensation, training, and etc.
  • Collaboration with Operations & Logistics
    • Sales and operations planning - lead sales planning and work collaboratively with operations throughout the process, resulting in achievement of plan
    • Quality - ensure sales team has excellent information about customer requirements and work with operations and logistics to establish clear quality metrics to improve the organizations ability to meet customer's quality expectations
    • Complaints & Claims - oversee the process for responding to client complaints and claims. Work with operations and logistics to ensure that these are responded to with a sense of urgency and that root causes are identified and addressed

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, or related major
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in building products sales and/or sales leadership
  • Established successful leadership of a business and/or team, with a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, execute against sales plans and deliver results.
  • Ability to facilitate and lead group meetings under required as an addition to verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, align with other functional groups, the capacity to challenge the status quo, and implement change in an organization.
  • Proven experience in leading outside sales teams, developing successful sales strategies and team structure and customer account planning
  • Developing pricing strategies across business segments and products
  • Positive demeanor and the ability to lead and/or function within a team.
  • Critical thinking, numerical analysis, an understanding of business finances with the ability to apply knowledge to ensure business profitability performance.
  • Ability and willingness to travel overnight approximately 50% of the time, scaled as needed.
  • Ability to work in various computer platforms (primarily Microsoft Office applications, with an emphasis on Excel).
  • Ability to multi-task and function in a changing, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent professional, written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understand and exhibit a sense of urgency
  • Strong self-motivation and organizational skills

  • Ability to facilitate and lead group meetings
  • Capacity to develop, analyze, interpret, and utilize data from business intelligence resources, aiding in the decision-making process
  • Experience with and demonstrated use of best practices in a functional role (i.e., sales and operations excellence)
  • Evidence of ability to manage talent in an organization, including development and execution of talent strategies around performance management, people development, incentives and succession planning
  • Advanced leadership and sales training
