Job Description
Swarm Transport is a Foreign Trade Zone Freight Forwarder that offers a variety of services that include local transportation, air, ocean, ground, warehousing, transload, inventory, distribution, and customs clearance/brokerage solutions.
We are looking for a dedicated, full-time Sales Executive who will thrive in a fast-paced environment. This individual will have previous outside sales experience, be self-motivated, possess excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills with a passion for freight forwarding, logistics, sales, and growth.
As the Sales Executive, you will convert new business, build relationships, grow current customers, and meet sales objectives. At the same time, you will analyze sales reports, industry data, and transportation trends to identify new customers and increase business.
Responsibilities:
- Track sales opportunities in CRM.
- Develop a pipeline of potential customers through strategic relationships.
- Achieves assigned sales targets quarterly and meets KPI set by management.
- Actively seeks out and develops new customers.
- Responsible for maintaining and strengthening existing customer relationships.
- You will be prospecting, soliciting, developing, and closing new accounts.
- Create sales leads and active point of contact over the phone and in person.
- Develop and implement strategic sales and business plans.
- Negotiate and prepare sales quotes for air, sea, land, brokerage, and other logistics services to customers.
- Conduct customer visits, calls, presentations, negotiations, etc.
- Arrange and participate in face-to-face sales meetings and conference calls with new and existing customers.
- Provides consistent interaction with existing customers.
- Maintains and builds account relationships.
- Ensures company products, services, rates, pertinent policies, and operational changes are communicated to customers on a timely basis.
- Assists in obtaining credit information and performing collection activities as required.
- Obtains and communicates information about competitive services, products, and pricing.
- Represents the Company at industry trade shows and conferences.
- Maintains all information about customers, including all contact information and call reports, accurately and timely in the system.
Skills & Qualifications Requirements:
- A person with a book of volume preferred.
- Demonstrate analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation and customer service skills.
- Strong knowledge of logistics (Import/export by sea, air, and land)
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred but will consider equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
- Must have 3-5 years of Experience in freight forwarding industry, consultative selling, intangibles, and/or services.
- 3-5 years of international business development.
- 3-5 years of Air Freight experience.
- 3-5 years of Ocean Freight experience.
- Must have outside sales experience.
- Must always possess a confident and creditable demeanor.
- A clean and polished appearance with the ability to speak clearly to prospective clients is required.
- Must be able to work alongside other sales personnel and communicate effectively.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and client procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Candidate must possess strong mathematical skills and ability to understand basic costing for all freight forwarding products including air / ocean / domestic trucking / import and export.
- Candidate must possess proficient computer skills in all MS Office programs.
- Must be a self-starter, driven and highly motivated.
- The position may require travel at times.
