To add to this tradition and history, we are looking for dynamic and creative Sales and Catering Manager who will deliver world-class wedding and social events to enhance guest experiences through exemplary service and attentiveness. The Sales and Catering Manager sells, plans, implements, and coordinates various details associated with weddings, social events, day meetings and other related activities assigned by the Director of Sales and Events. The Sales and Catering Manager is responsible for attainment of assigned catering/banquet goals tied to the overall performance of the hotel. The individual will be responsible for effectively soliciting and securing new wedding and social accounts as well as coordinating those events. The Sales and Catering Manager will work in conjunction with the Director of Sales and Events to achieve the hotels revenue and market share goals.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond to all phone and electronic opportunities, set-up and execute site tours, as well as negotiate and close contracts
  • Maintain communication with clients in order to ensure that signed contracts, deposits, and any other pertinent information is received and handled in a timely manner
  • Client, vendor, and events assistance including; creating banquet event orders, checking banquet event orders versus set up, participating in BEO meeting, helping with event resumes, assisting with day of event needs, checking on planners
  • Conduct site tours with clients to visualize and devise event plan and layout, while answering questions and addressing concerns
  • Function as the point person for weddings/ events and monitor event activities on-site the day of and for the duration of the event to ensure that the client guests are satisfied and event execution is seamless
  • Support with facilities and event details such as audio visual and catering
  • Proactively troubleshoot and assist with emerging issues
  • Assist with pre-and post-event evaluations and analysis
  • Photocopy correspondence, memos, and reports
  • Scan, file, manage and maintain electronic files, database, and control lists to ensure efficient accessibility/usage and confidentiality
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion
  • Work independently and within a team on special non-recurring and ongoing projects
  • Compile Reports as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Wedding, sales, conference, or event coordination experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to adjust schedule as needed to accommodate evening and weekend events
  • Effective administration of multiple projects simultaneously

  • Capable of keeping up in a fast-paced work environment

  • Understands the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them
  • Attend trade shows pertinent to assigned areas and attend meetings, seminars, and functions through membership in association
  • Reconciles and communicates all event function costs and expenses pre and post events for proper billing
  • Works with the banquet team and chef to provide seasonal offerings and special menus when appropriate
  • Supports the Sales and Banquet teams with preparation, communication and submission of weekly reporting of all event orders, resumes, production and arrival reports
  • Demonstrated human relations and communications skills
  • Commitment to provide excellent customer service required

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 1-2 years of applicable experience
  • Experience working with and organizing events, social schedules, conference, etc

EDUCATION/ FORMAL TRAINING

  • College degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience hospitality experience preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work inside 95% of day.
  • Able to sit/ stand for long periods of time in an office environment
  • Regular and predictable attendance required.
  • Positive attitude, team player, good interpersonal communication skills
  • Be able to work collaboratively and cross functionally with multiple departments
  • Some OT hours / travel may be required, including weekends, depending on when key events are scheduled.

The resort includes a golf course, 127 guest rooms and suites, and a crater that is 65 feet deep and naturally filled with mineral water that continuously flows at 96 degrees year round. This crater has become a very well known attraction around the world and is a top spot for taking a mineral water soak, doing paddle board yoga or scuba dive certification.
