Sales Associate
Position Summary:
Participates in the daily activities and operations of Modern Home 2. Position reports to the President/CEO. Must be available for Saturday shift. This position requires an individual to undertake a variety of administrative functions. In order to be successful, the candidate needs to bring administrative skills and experience, as well as a willingness to learn our processes and systems. It is also expected that the individual be a self-starter, personally well-organized, detail oriented, and willing to provide outstanding customer service and follow-up.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Greet and assist customers in the showroom.
· Self-starter able to create a brief “Bio Description” on vintage items by researching the artist.
· Continue to build rapport with customer throughout selling process through communication of quotes, phone calls, emails, and any additional showroom visits.
· Sorting and directing emails to the appropriate destination.
· Assisting with showroom layouts and displays.
· Manage and follow up on all orders, returns, and deliveries.
· Detailed data entry.
· Constructing quotes, invoices, and sample orders for customers.
· Creating accurate customer computer files in QuickBooks and input job quotes, sales invoices, and vendor purchase orders.
· Keep showroom neat and well-organized on a daily basis.
· Provide phenomenal customer service.
· Knowledgeable of current fashion and home trends.
· Strong computer and social media skills are highly desirable.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to multitask and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The individual should be able to stay on task with many distractions. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience:
· High school diploma (or GED) with 2 or more years of retail sales experience and 2 or more years of customer service experience.
· Interior design experience/knowledge a plus but not required.
· Experience with general office equipment (telephone, copier, printer, etc.)
· Experience with MS Office is required.
· Experience with QuickBooks is required.
· Professionalism, to include dependability, accountability, and punctuality.
· Self-motivated and internally driven to excel in your position and career.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift 30 or more pounds.
· Able to lift and bend to pick up items.
· Experience with sit down forklifts
· Capable of using a two-wheeler or dolly to move product.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
