Sales Associate - Bend & Redmond

Great American Furniture Warehouse is looking for someone to join our sales team. This position is full time and commision based. Working weekends is required, as it is your best opportunity to make sales and commision. We need someone who can work at our Bend, Oregon store 2 days a week and our Redmond, Oregon store 3 days a week until the end of May when our Bend store closes. After that this position would be working at our Redmond store 5 days per week.

We are a 43 year old local family owned company. We stock about 1,000 items store wide from 2 dozen manufactures including living room, dining, bedroom and mattresses. We have the ability to order over 10,000 items, so we can fill just about any need. We guarantee the best prices in Central Oregon and offer great quality furniture that we can stand behind. Our furniture almost sells itself. This sales position has great earning potential!

Previous customer service, retail or sales experience is not required, but is a plus. If you have a great personality and enjoy working with people we can teach the sales skills and product knowledge necessary to be successful. Basic computer experience is also a plus.

Primary duties will involve working with customers in the store and on the phone to help them find the perfect furniture for their needs. Point of sale software is used for stock checks and invoice creation. Web browsers are used for showing product catalogs, running financing and checking status on product that is on order.

Secondary duties will involve post sales follow up, unboxing/assembling furniture, creating price tags for new items, moving/lifting/carrying furniture for customer load outs or store stocking, store mechandising/rearranging , warehouse orginizing/lifting/stacking, vaccuuming, dusting, restroom cleaning, unloading freight trucks. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Position: Full time, 40 hours per week

Schedule: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Thursday - Monday (days off are Tuesdays and Wednesdays). Working weekends is required.

Pay: This job pays $20-$35 per hour on average (no cap, see below).

Pay first 90 days: Pay is $20.00 per hour for the first 90 days, unless you exceed the commission threshold and then you would be paid commission, whichever is greater.

Pay after 90 days: Pay is commission + spiff bonuses. An hourly guarantee of $18.00 per hour is provided after the first 90 days if commission is not met. There is no cap on commission or spiffs, the more you sell, the more you make!

Physical requirements: You must be physically capable of lifting/carrying furniture, moving furniture with use of a hand truck/furniture cart and capable of assembling furniture using instructions and basic tools.
