Job Description

The Retail Sales Associates serves H&B Army Navy Store customers, offering product knowledge and providing friendly, attentive and courteous service throughout each customer interaction, to ensure H&B Army Navy Store meets sales and revenue goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greet customers
• Direct customers to merchandise
• Answer customer questions in person and over the phone
• Recommend products, assist customer in evaluating products and making purchases.
• Complete customer transactions, and place special orders.
• Build customer confidence by making the store experience interactive, engaging and reassuring.
• Maximize customer experience by solving problems.
• Help maintain the visual appearance of the store by replenishing inventory as appropriate and maintaining store cleanliness.
• Perform inventory functions as directed.
• Attend product training sessions and vendor meetings as directed to gain and enhance product knowledge.
• When opening and closing the H&B Army Navy Store, thoroughly complete opening and closing tasks.
• Opening and closing cash drawers and drawer reconciliation
• Comply with all store policies and procedures; ensure customer transactions are conducted in compliance with same.
• Ensure that the display, demonstration and sale of restricted items is conducted in compliance with H&B Army Navy Store export compliance policy.
• Use your time well, even when not serving customers.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required. Advanced education preferred.
• Must have previous retail or customer service-oriented experience.
• Experience with tactical equipment strongly preferred.
• Former military or law enforcement experience a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Able to motivate customers and potential customers into making purchases.
• Must be experienced and knowledgeable in the variety of products offered for sale.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to employ a high level of professionalism in all interactions with employees, clients and vendors. Able to handle difficult situations tactfully.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and reasoning in sales contacts with customers and respect the confidentiality of the customer and the Company in all transactions.
• Ability to evaluate customer expectations and close the sale.
• Multi-task oriented to handle the daily functions required by the position and daily workload.
• Must be available for flexible scheduling, including Saturdays
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
• Ability to quickly learn new procedures and processes
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• While performing duties of this job, will frequently be required to lift a minimum of 30 lbs., stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Needs to have firearms knowledge.
