The Hospice Benefit Shop (Hobs) is hiring for a Sales Associate! This is a 20 hour per week, entry-level position! The Sales Associate is responsible for the processing of goods, register sales, and creating a welcoming shopping environment for customers. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, including Saturdays.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Greeting donor courteously and unloading donated items with care, then issuing receipts to donors as requested
- Assist with the initial sorting of donated items to the proper workstation
- Price donated goods and prepare them for placement on the store floor
- Assist customers in locating or selecting merchandise
- Accurately conduct sales transactions and follow proper procedures relating to cash and credit card controls
- Maintain the sales floor and inventory in a clean, neat, and properly displayed manner
- Maintain sales floor cleanliness during each shift
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, fitting rooms, stock room, and store exterior
- Must be able to supervise volunteers in the absence of the Store Manager
- Must be able to lift up to 30lbs, climb a ladder, and stoop
- Ability to work flexible days and hours required
- All other duties as assigned by the Store Manager
Qualifications:
- High School or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
- One year of relevant retail experience preferred
- Must possess and demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents related to store operation
- Must possess a basic ability to perform basic mathematical equations
- Ability to adhere to policy, follow instructions, and make basic decisions
- Must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for employment

- Full time employees accrue up to 80 hours of PTO annually.

- Miles driven for work are reimbursed at 62.5 cents per mile.
- Holiday pay for 6 observed holidays.
- Ability to enroll in 401(k) and begin contributing at time of hire. Heartlinks will match dollar for dollar up to 5% of earnings after one year of employment and 1080 hours worked.
