Job Description
DMP’s Sales & Marketing intern will work on a team of veteran account and Marketing managers execute business promotion projects which support the department objectives to increase client engagement, grow revenue and enhance DMP’s brand.
Upon completion of the internship, the Sales & Marketing intern will have deeper understanding of automotive business processes, sales & marketing activities in B2B environment, real-life problem solving, and increased domain knowledge in Mapping, ADAS and Autonomous Vehicles.
With this experience, the Sales & Marketing intern will be better prepared for a career in business development, particularly in the Automotive or GIS industries.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Inside Sales Support. The Sales & Marketing intern will learn to provide customer service to these clients as well as provide presentation and planning support to senior salespeople.
- Product Marketing. DMP’s Sales & Marketing intern will be involved in a variety of product marketing tasks including, but not limited to support for marketing collateral development, market research and sales forecasting.
- Process Control –The Sales & Marketing intern will support the Sales team with process & project documentation to help achieve conformance to our process.
- Undergraduate Junior or Senior in Engineering, Business, or majors which require high levels of quantitative problem-solving and analytical writing.
- Coursework in English composition, economics, accounting, communications, and computer science is desirable.
- Demonstrated high levels of the following: Integrity, Professionalism, Authenticity, Excellent English communication skills (mandatory), Empathy, Energy
- Customer service work experience in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Excellent ability to listen carefully, take excellent notes, and gather intelligence.
- Excellent ability to learn independently and still deliver results.
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written.
- Very good Microsoft Office Suite skills ( .xls, .ppt).
- Ability to see the big picture and communicate precisely and concisely about it.
- This position requires 40 hours per week.
- Must have own transportation to work at DMP’s in Livonia MI HQ.
- Travel limited to within the Metro Detroit area.
- This role will involve on-the-job training. Must be comfortable taking on new assignments, quick instruction and working independently toward goals and deadlines.
- Travel: 0-5%. Time Zones: >95%: EDT/PDT; <5% CET/JST.
