SalaryPOSITION SUMMARY
The Sales Agronomist will work with farmers/producers to help with agronomic needs such as seed, chemical, crop nutrients, and service needs. The position would be emphasized in the seed department, working with existing customers and be able to pursue new business as well.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Making calls or farm visits to interact with producers about their crop seed needs and working alongside throughout the year to give professional advice on their agronomic needs.
- Would oversee handling the seed through deliveries to farms and/or fields.
- Responsible for seed handling and seed treating equipment.
- Work alongside with other members of the Agronomy department.
- Coordinating with freight companies and corporate offices on seed shipments into and out of headquarters.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A degree in Agronomy or agriculture related field or equivalent experience preferred but not required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Self-sufficient.
- Highly motivated.
- Ability to prioritize schedule and organize schedule.
- Confident and strong sense of independence.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work in various outdoor conditions.
- Willingness to help out other aspects of the business.
- Ability to work weekends and evenings during demanding times of the year.
