THIS POSITION IS WITHIN THE FUNCTIONAL COMMUNITY (FC) 12 - FIRE, OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY CAREER FIELD AND THE INCUMBENT MUST ALREADY HAVE OR BE ABLE TO ACHIEVE A FC-12 LEVEL ONE CERTIFICATE WITHIN 12 MONTHS OF ENTRY ON DUTY. EXTENSIONS MAY BE REQUESTED THROUGH AFC FC-12 CAREER PROGRAM MANAGER AND FORWARDED TO THE DASA-ESOH FOR APPROVAL.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Experience developing and implementing Safety and Occupational Health (S&OH) Program in accordance with all statutory and regulatory requirements; (2) Experience formulating policies and review of standard operating procedures for a S&OH program; AND (3) Experience developing process improvement plans to improve the safety of personnel, working environment, and facilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DJ-03/GS-12).
