- Develops, conducts, and coordinates plant-specific internal compliance inspections of activities regulated by AKOSH, EPA, DOT, and applicable state and local laws or regulations and company policies.
- Administer first aid; respond to medical issues and emergencies for approx. 280 employees.
- Work with all departments to maintain safe work practices and ensure that they are followed.
- Conduct extensive safety orientations and training for all employees.
- Develop and administer plant safety program elements as needed.
- Ensure compliance with AKOSH, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Maintain appropriate records and reports.
- Collect drug test samples.
- Enthusiastically support the goals and policies of OBI Seafoods, Inc. at the work location.
- Prompt, reliable, and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Plant Manager and/or requested by the corporation
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Strong industrial safety background.
- Previous seafood experience preferred.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Able to work long hours: 12 or more hours per day, 7 days per week.
- Prompt and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Proven ability to work cooperatively within all levels of a company.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Must be able to live and work in confined quarters.
- Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to live and work in Egegik, Ak from early May to mid-August.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Work involves daily exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, humidity, darkness, and/or noise.
- The work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks, such as working around mechanical, chemical, and electrical hazards.
- Position requires the ability to stand, sit at a desk, walk around the office, and plant. Also requires the ability to see, Hear, and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette.
- Personal protective equipment, as defined by OBI Seafoods, will be provided.
- The position will be exposed to different levels of stress and responsibilities.
