What you will enjoy doing*
- Prepare, maintain, and confirm compliance with federal, state, and local agency environmental reporting and permitting, as well as internal corporate EHS standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, procedures, and best practice techniques. Implement new regulatory requirements and provide control measures that reduce or eliminate risks to the Company.
- Manage and track injury and illness data as well as environmental metrics. Lead reduction in injury and illness rates and environmental impact and costs.
- Investigate injuries/illnesses, near-misses and environmental incidents. Determine root cause of incidents and provide corrective action plan.
- Conduct EHS assessments at the facility, identify areas for improvement, and lead corrective actions (from plant and corporate/3rd party audits).
- Lead EHS reviews and identify requirements for engineering projects, new lines/equipment, and management of change activity.
- Coordinate various safety training programs, maintain training records within databases, and periodically report on compliance status.
What makes you great
- 5-10 years of experience in a safety role in an operations/manufacturing environment
- Preferred candidate will have Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a safety or engineering discipline.
- Preferred candidate will have knowledge / experience in industrial hygiene and or environmental compliance.
- Experience with machinery, industrial equipment and customization preferred.
- Exceptional leadership skills and ability to mentor and motivate (a real passion for EHS)
- Ability to compile, format and present in front of large groups on a frequent basis.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
