We are looking for:

  • The Safety Engineer will work in a professional manner to support safe and efficient operation of both mining and chemical processes while helping to advance our safety culture.

We count on you for:
  • Developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures
  • Applying health and Safety Engineering technology and principles to develop and implement solutions to prevent injury and eliminate risk exposure
  • Performing regular health and safety assessments and audits
  • Developing corrective action plans from the results of the assessments/audits and mentoring personnel to follow through with corrective actions
  • Identifying and "designing out" hazards by using a risk management process and providing personnel with methods for accident reduction
  • Providing training to all levels of the organization with regard to best practices and proper equipment usage, safety regulatory requirements and changes, and general health and safety training
  • Surveying equipment and processes; identifying potentially unsafe conditions and implementing a direct improvement plan
  • Analyzing all aspects of investigations related to health and safety in the workplace
  • Overseeing the progress of corrective actions to ensure they are completed
  • Complying with all health and safety laws and regulations and ensuring that all personnel are in compliance

You will bring:
  • B.S. in Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, etc.) is required
  • 3-5 years of experience in mining, chemical plant, or refinery
  • Possess or ability to obtain ASP and/or CSP certifications
  • Possess or ability to obtain State of Wyoming Underground Mine Examiner and Foreman papers
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
  • Excellent leadership ability and experience leading training lectures and skill-building practices
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to be a self-starter with minimal direct supervision

You will get:
  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $102,000 - $113,526, depending on qualifications. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
