Form of workAbout the Position: Serves as principal Safety and Occupational Health Specialist at the Corps and Division level of an Army Command or equivalent. The program embraces a diversity of high risk factors to meet training and mission readiness requirements. The duties and responsibilities of this position require or authorize the individual to participate in the formulation, development, implementation, and enforcement of the Safety Program's policies, directives and regulatory guidance.Qualifications:

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, which includes experience in 1) modification of Safety and health standard or techniques; 2) eliminating unsafe operations or conditions of critically affecting military readiness; 3) work processes and practices of specialized warehousing and material handling and techniques; 4) techniques of fire protection and suppression to organize and execute comprehensive safety survey of worksite facilities; 5) techniques and procedures applied by industrial hygienists and fire protection engineers to coordinate with specialists of these occupations the control of hazardous conditions arising from military exercises where there are frequent and ongoing maintenance operations.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).Education: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
