Safety And Occupational Health Specialist

Qualifications:For the GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector planning and conducting inspections for a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH program to evaluate current safety procedures and develop recommendations that aim to eliminate environmental accidents, mishaps, and potential hazards.
For the GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector supporting inspections for a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH program by identifying hazards and reviewing current safety procedures for the purpose of eliminating environmental accidents, mishaps, and potential hazards.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). For the GS-11:
Successful completion of Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a major study of safety or OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH fields (safety, OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH, industrial hygiene), or degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study from among the following (or closely related) disciplines: safety, OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology.
OR
Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a major study of safety or OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH fields (safety, OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH, industrial hygiene), or degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study from among the following (or closely related) disciplines: safety, OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology.
OR
Possession of LL.M., if related
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
For the GS-09:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree in a major study of safety or OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH fields (safety, OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH, industrial hygiene), or degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study from among the following (or closely related) disciplines: safety, OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology.
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree in a major study of safety or OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH fields (safety, OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH, industrial hygiene), or degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study from among the following (or closely related) disciplines: safety, OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology.
OR
