Safety Advisor - Construction

Safety Management Group seeks a Safety Advisor in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This position does not offer per diem.
The key function of a Safety Advisor is to put Safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client's needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change. The Associate in this role will be working in a Construction Environment.
Overview of Job Responsibilities:

• Support production engineering and contractor implementation of the Construction Safety Management System requirements.
• Provide safety leadership for maintenance, construction, and equipment installation projects.
• Work to ensure safety requirements are clear to contractors.
• Conduct formal safety audits of activities related to construction and equipment installation.
• Review contractor JSA's.

Requirements

• Safety Degree or 5-10 years of experience.
• OSHA 500 or OSHA 510
• Experience working on construction projects.
• Experience with various parts of construction - Site/Civil, Structural Steel, Electrical.
• Experience reviewing and verifying JSAs developed by contractors.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite - Word, Excel & Powerpoint.

• Moving about long distances
• Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders
• Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period
• Working in extreme weather
• Being exposed to loud noises
• Wearing personal protective gear correctly
