Safety Management Group seeks a Safety Advisor in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This position does not offer per diem.
The key function of a Safety Advisor is to put Safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client's needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change. The Associate in this role will be working in a Construction Environment.
Overview of Job Responsibilities:
- Support production engineering and contractor implementation of the Construction Safety Management System requirements.
- Provide safety leadership for maintenance, construction, and equipment installation projects.
- Work to ensure safety requirements are clear to contractors.
- Conduct formal safety audits of activities related to construction and equipment installation.
- Review contractor JSA's.
Requirements
- Safety Degree or 5-10 years of experience.
- OSHA 500 or OSHA 510
- Experience working on construction projects.
- Experience with various parts of construction - Site/Civil, Structural Steel, Electrical.
- Experience reviewing and verifying JSAs developed by contractors.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite - Word, Excel & Powerpoint.
Physical Demands of the job may include:
- Moving about long distances
- Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders
- Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period
- Working in extreme weather
- Being exposed to loud noises
- Wearing personal protective gear correctly
