National Salvage and Services Corporation is looking for a strong, motivated Safety Admin to join our team. The Safety Admin will report directly to the Corporate Safety Manager.

The Safety Admin will be responsible for the development of the safety training program company wide. He/she manages overall safety and training compliance, and maintains effective relationships with field employees, corporate employees, community members and other stakeholders.

This role will work closely with department managers and leadership to identify training needs and develop training strategies and programs to meet those needs.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Facilitate and administer the New Employee Safety Orientation.
  • Monitor and implement into training materials new and changing OSHA/FRA/MSHA regulations.
  • Work will all Teams in a collaborative and influential manner toward continuous improvement of health and safety.
  • Develop training records for all employees and verify all employees are qualified and trained on their specific job duties.
  • Drive and Promote an Incident and Injury Free culture for all employees.
  • Leverage creativity and utilize a wide variety of training techniques, such as case study, role playing, group activities, icebreaker exercises, etc. to deliver training programs that engage learners and increase retention.
  • Interpret audience comprehension of presented content and adjust training delivery as needed.
  • Identify, vet, and coordinate third party training resources (where applicable): Review curriculums, quote training services, and schedule trainings.
  • Determine training effectiveness through skill assessments and/or on-the-job observation.
  • Ensure organized retention and accessibility of company safety and health-related records.
  • Maintain accurate and timely training records and reports.
  • Manage submittals, data, and safety questionnaires within ISNet, Avetta, DISA, RailPros and other customer systems to ensure compliance.

Preferred Experience:

  • Degree in occupational safety or directly applicable experience in EHS as it pertains to adult learning.
  • History of success in creating and facilitating adult learning.
  • Proficiency and working knowledge of: ISNet, DISA, RailPros, and Avetta.

Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated and self-directed to work independently with minimal supervision, yet able to work as a team member.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a record of building consensus among internal and external parties.
  • General knowledge of applicable safety statutes and regulations and familiarity with the principles associated with maintaining a strong safety program.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, FRA, ANSI, DOT, NFPA and NEC regulations desired.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project or similar project software.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills with the ability to work under minimum direction and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong math and analytical skills.
  • Ability to pass company required drug testing and background checks.
