Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required. 5 years in aircraft paint operations or previous experience in related paint processes is required. Training in drawing programs such as CorelDraw, AI and AutoCAD, or equivalent software. Training in communication and computer keyboard skills. Training in people and customer relation skills.
Position Purpose:
Gather and provide an information path from the external customer to the paint shop floor. This includes the processes of planning, design and financial. This position is the single point of contact with the Paint shop in conjunction with Paint Operations Up-Front Process, Stripe Layout, Customer Inspections, and the Paint Critical Path Schedule. This includes gathering and organizing all up-front information particular to the paint operation, providing Liaison during the Lay-Outs and Customer Paint Inspections and maintaining the Paint Critical Path Schedule.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
  1. Communicate customer expectations to the shop floor via approved documentation as part of the up-front process. .
  2. Organize specifications, drawings and customer request to ensure access by all the agents of the up-front process including external and internal customers.
  3. Assist customer with color scheme.
  4. Assist customer in the design process of the paint layout.
  5. Catalogue and store all drawings and specifications by job at completion of work. .
  6. Assist design team in obtaining all necessary drawings for exterior paint team on aircraft.
  7. Design exterior paint drawings and reg. numbers from start to finish on all in-service refurbished aircraft.
  8. Take photos and e-mail progress, damage, and stripe package pictures for customers.
  9. Attend all up-front meetings including project reviews and customer debriefs.
  10. Review paint definitions checklists with customer during the walk-around of the actual aircraft.
  11. Coordinate with Purchasing and Receiving to ensure there are no work stoppages within Paint Operations at any given time.

Additional Functions:
  1. Prepare color test panels, document and ship as required. .
  2. Prepare WCA/WCR (Work Change Authorization) in conjunction with Paint Operation Manager. .
  3. Assist shop floor in hands on application of stripe package and registration numbers. .
  4. Operate vinyl cutting machine as required. .
  5. Establish and maintain a min-max supply system by which all consumable materials are stocked and ordered. Organize prompt resolutions when material shortages occur to prevent lost labor hours. .
  6. Ensure that all equipment and the facilities are consistently clean, dry and serviceable by strongly supporting current quality initiatives such as Lean/5S. This will also include placing and tracking work orders with available Facilities Technicians and establishing deadlines for necessary repairs to be performed according to organizational needs. .
  7. Work closely with Paint Shop Management and other Paint Support personnel such as Manufacturing Engineers to identify new product and equipment needs, develop and facilitate subsequent testing of potential new products, and to report on the results accordingly. .

Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
  1. Possess a working knowledge of the Gulfstream Policies and Procedures manual, Inspection Procedures manual and pertinent Process Specifications including GAMPS, SPT and WFRs.
  2. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  3. Comprehensive knowledge of paint products and processes, and proficiency in all aircraft painting tasks.
  4. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
