Job Purpose
This position is responsible for creating Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) simulation scenarios based off engineering procedures and 3D models. This role will support tender and project hazard identification and clash checks during the modeling review. The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:
Job Description
  • Develop ROV simulation scenarios using the Lua programming language and VMAX Simulation Package.
  • Prepare 3D model assets for VMAX Simulation.
  • Ensure that scenario is accurate according to procedures and engineering drawings.
  • Ensure that model is to proper dimensions and scale.
  • Ensure that collision geometries and physics properties are implemented correctly.
  • Thoroughly test scenarios on the 12 LCD Screen Full ROV Pilot Simulator before deployment.
  • Must learn how to operate the ROV simulator for testing and demonstration.
  • Issue access check reports and video captures based on the findings from simulation.
  • Fully document scenario design and archive assets for future use.
  • Other simulation, modeling and graphical tasks as required.
  • Assist lead in development of multi region sharing of VMax scenarios and assets.

You are meant for this job if:
  • 2 years of experience in offshore/subsea industry with particular emphasis in leading the installation and pre-commissioning of reeled and S-Lay pipelines, flexibles, umbilicals and subsea structures, as well as offshore marine operations.
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC, VISAs and medical certs such as BOSIET, UKOA and/or OGUK.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of offshore installation techniques and equipment.
  • Familiar with installation software tools: Autocad, 3dsMax, Inventor.
  • Strong object oriented software design skills.
  • Experience working with various APIs.
  • High-level debugging skills.
  • Must have a strong understanding of rigid body dynamics.
  • Written and verbal communication skills required. Must be able to interpret and convey design information to engineers and developers.
  • Familiar with Lua Code.
  • Experience in 3D Digital Arts or similar
  • Proactively engages with Quality and HSES initiatives.
  • Shows respect for subordinates and coworkers.
  • Collaborates transparently to address what truly matters and always delivers on promises.
  • Proven ability to build trust with project and field support team members.

Work Environment/ Physical Demands:
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office based position with occasional trips offsite/offshore.
95% office environment and 5% field (onshore / offshore) environment.
Travel required to support business trips and/or project execution (mobilization, demobilization and offshore operations) domestically.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Frequent sitting and operating a computer when in the office.
Frequent walking, standing, climbing stairs / ladders while onboard the vessel, as well as exposure to sea conditions (vessel movement, summer heat, etc.)
