Route Sales Driver

Summary/Objective

Travel throughout assigned territory in company vehicle, meeting with current and prospective customers to deliver and promote product line. Routes are same day hauls with multiple stops over established routes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Provide reliable and efficient product delivery to customers using company vehicle or truck.

2. Collect money from customers and record transactions on customer receipts.

3. Inform regular customers of new products or services and price changes.

4. Listen to and resolve customers' complaints regarding products or service.

5. Record sales or delivery information on daily sales or delivery record.

6. Call on prospective customers to explain company services or to solicit new business.

7. Arrange merchandise and rotate product at customer location.

8. Perform daily vehicle inspections.

Additional Responsibilities

1. May perform additional responsibilities directed from management.

2. Promote and follow Rizo Lopez policies and procedures.

3. Recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.

4. Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

1. 21 years of age or older;

2. Spanish/English bilingual with effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills a must;

3. Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

4. Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

5. Display strong organizational and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work individually as well as part of a team

Certification and License

A current, valid, and properly classed driver's license is required; driving record must, for a period of three years immediately preceding employment or any date during employment thereafter, be free of any major violations and no more than three (3) minor violations. Preferred Education and Experience

1. High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.

2. 1-3 years related experience, in sales, retail, customer service, and/or route driving.

Work Schedule

The typical work schedule is 8.00 hours per day 5 days per week; exact schedules and shifts are assigned by management. Specific sales routes are assigned to employees based on availability and business needs. The company reserves right to add, modify, or reduce route, work schedule and/or hours based on company business needs. As business needs change, no guarantees will be made regarding work hours and schedules, routes, work assignments, job duties or any other terms and conditions. It is the attendance standard of the employer that employee be present and on time each shift they are scheduled to work. Full or partial absence during any scheduled shift, arriving late, or leaving early, for whatever reason, may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination or employment. Time off may be approved if allowed by applicable policies covering illness, injury, or other personal emergency.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment & Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to work on various surfaces including concrete, gravel, grass, and other varying conditions such as loading dock and shelve heights, slick surfaces from rain or water and cluttered storage areas/docks at stores. The employee is also exposed to varying temperatures environments.
