Route Manager/Driver

NOW HIRING A FULL TIME ROUTE MANAGER/DRIVER IN MINNESOTA!
Proksch Transit is a 40-year family run United States Postal Service (USPS) contractor moving mail between USPS distribution centers and local post offices in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Schedule:
– Monday thru Saturday, split shift schedule, approximately 40 hours per week.
– Home nightly.
- Morning shift starts in Rochester at 5:00 a.m. and ends at various layover towns around 8:00 a.m. Afternoon shift starts at various layover towns at 2:00 p.m. and ends back in Rochester by 5:15 p.m.
- Four Sunday's during peak season.
Compensation:
- $50,000 annual salary plus benefits.
- Benefits include one week paid vacation and employer only retirement plan contribution 15% of wages, approximately $7,500 annually.
Job Duties:
- Ensuring all contracted routes are covered by drivers for all scheduled route times and ensuring all mail is picked up from and delivered to all contracted dock locations within scheduled contract times and every scheduled day of the route.
- Manage the driver pool operating on the Rochester routes.
- Monitor driver compliance regarding safety regulations and company policies.
- Make at minimum of weekly inspections of all on site company trucks and automobiles communicating any problems, concerns, and upcoming maintenance with the company mechanic.
Qualifications:
- Education- Required: High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred: Bachelors Degree in logistics and/or management, and/or 5+ years related transportation management experience.
- 5+ years commercial driving experience.
- Required: Valid driver's license, clean driving record. Preferred: Commercial Class B driver's license, DOT medical card, clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a federal background check for access to US Mail and authorization to work in the U.S. Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug test.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds (occasionally).
- Located within 30 minutes commute time to the Rochester, MN main post office.
- A professional leader always.
- A critical thinker demonstrating independent problem solving and decision-making skills.
- High level of written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers in professional tone and manner.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Familiarity with commercial vehicles and the transportation industry.
- Some mechanical knowledge or experience preferred.
- Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA and compliance.
