CWP Energy is an energy trading company based in Montreal. Since 2012, we have developed an expertise in renewable energy and physical trading. Our differentiator is our entrepreneurial approach that encourages initiative, experimentation and risk taking.
The company operates in a niche market, and we believe in training the best next generation of Power Traders and Risk Analysts. To do so, we have developed a Rotational Program to train finance, actuaries, engineering young professionals and students to pursue a career in Power Trading. Candidates will have the opportunity to learn from our team of data scientists, engineers, fundamental traders, and developers.

What does the program look like?
Throughout a period of 12 months, you will be guided by our team to accomplish mandates and rotations in:
- Risk & Operations
- Congestion Trading
- Physical Trading
- Fundamental Trading
Am I suited for this program?
- You wish to develop a niche expertise in Power Trading
- You have a master’s degree in finance, actuaries, or engineering
- You stand out from your colleagues by your achievements as well as your professional and academic experiences
- You have an entrepreneurial mindset and strong ability to connect the dots
- You have experience with SQL and Python
- You are based in or willing to relocate in Pittsburgh
After graduating the program, what would my role look like?
- Analyze real-time data to look for profitable trading strategies
- Build efficient strategies trading the following markets: IESO, MISO, PJM, NYISO and ISO-NE
- Trade short term cash market to optimize portfolio
- Analyze portfolio risk profiles and cash allocation
- Determine market and internal Risk & Compliance structure for traders
