Job Title: Weekend Nurse (LVN) - Residential Eating Disorder Treatment

Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Weekend Nurse (Licensed Vocational Nurse) to join our team. The Weekend Nurse will primarily work on Saturdays and Sundays DAY SHIFT (8:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.), providing comprehensive nursing care, support, and assistance to patients. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping adolescents with Eating Disorders. This position requires outstanding nursing skills, excellent communication abilities, and a sincere desire to make a positive impact on the lives of patients.

Responsibilities:
1. Provide direct nursing care to patients, including assessing their physical and mental health status, monitoring vital signs, handling medication administration, and identifying any emergent or urgent medical needs.
2. Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient, ensuring that medical and emotional needs are adequately addressed.
3. Offer emotional support, empathy, and motivation to patients in order to establish rapport and facilitate effective communication.
4. Conduct regular health and wellness assessments, collect and document patients' medical histories, and evaluate progress towards treatment goals.
5. Educate patients and their families on the nature of Eating Disorders, nutrition, and the importance of following prescribed treatment plans.
6. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to organize and participate in therapeutic activities, group sessions, and educational programs related to Eating Disorders and recovery.
7. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, organizational policies, and nursing best practices, including infection control protocols.
8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care plans, medical records, and treatment interventions.
9. Continuously update knowledge and skills through participating in training programs, workshops, and conferences related to Eating Disorders and mental health.

Requirements:
1. MUST hold a current, unencumbered nursing licensure (LVN or RN) in the state of California
2. Proven experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably with patients diagnosed with Eating Disorders, mental health issues, or related conditions.
3. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and effectively communicate with nurses, psychiatrists, therapists, and other staff members.
4. Proficient in maintaining accurate and organized documentation, adhering to privacy regulations and industry standards.

Working Conditions:
The Weekend Nurse position is typically scheduled for two 12-hour shifts over the weekend. You will be working in a residential treatment facility, where patients receive 24/7 care. The role may involve occasional exposure to challenging behavioral situations. The ability to handle stressful circumstances while maintaining composure and professionalism is essential in this role.
