JOB DESCRIPTION
PURPOSE AND PERFORMANCE GOALS
Provide quality, value-added professional service in the culinary department to enable the restaurant department to exceed brand standards for food service, guest helpfulness, and guest friendliness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To enhance our guests with good, prompt and courteous foodservice, and by providing and enjoyable function from start to finish. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Ensures proper placement of china, glassware and silverware on Room Service trays.
- Ensures proper condiments stocked and available for placement on Room Service trays as needed.
- Correctly prepares Room Service trays with food and beverage order.
- Review proper age documentation prior to delivering alcoholic beverages to a guest room.
- Delivers and serves all food and beverage items ordered to guest room in prompt and professional way.
- Checks corridors for used trays when returning from delivering orders.
- Cleans and breakdowns trays in dish area, watching for unused and clean condiments, salt, pepper, and sugar and returns them to Room Service area.
- Exceeds guest expectations, with proper attitude and prompt service.
- Insure oncoming shift has adequate supply of silverware, trays, napkins, condiments, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED. 6 months serving experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to communicate clearly with guests, customers, supervisors and fellow employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS – Not applicable
REASONING ABILITY
Must be able to analyze routine data to make appropriate judgments regarding server processes.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
TIPS – Beverage Alcohol Seller and Server certificate
Illinois Food Handler’s Certification
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

HOURS
Due to the business demands of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the hotel provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any employee may be required to work rotating shifts, including weekends, night shifts, and/or overtime. Also, depending on business demands, hours may be reduced at any time.
