Specific job knowledge, skills, and abilities:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and be able to demonstrate that he or she can perform:
- Clean and service assigned rooms or areas, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, removing trash, etc.
- May included cleaning of kitchen area, room refrigerator, coffee maker, cups, glasses, silverware, etc.
- Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments to ensure excellent quality and service.
- Immediately report any health and safety incident, security breaches, or suspicious behavior to the supervisor.
- May regularly assist with deep cleaning projects and turndown duties.
- Respond to guest complaints, special requests, and take action to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Communication skills used frequently when interacting with guests and employees.
- Must be able to read, speak, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Must be detail-oriented with regard to cleanliness.
- Able to work independently and part of a team.
- Must be able to follow safety procedures at all times, including wearing safety protection equipment.
Physical Requirements:
- Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems. however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like laundry rooms (+110 F) possibly for one hour or more.
- Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds and ability to push carts and equipment up to 250 pounds on a regular basis.
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and moving about the facility. Requires grasping, reaching, and performing repetitive motions; manual dexterity to operate equipment.
