Akuo USA

Taking advantage of the economically attractive solar and wind market in the US, Akuo USA is serving as the Akuo platform to expand the business in the USA. Managed as an independent company, Akuo USA is benefitting from Akuo international track record and network in renewable energies in over 30 countries.

In the USA, Akuo currently operates 600 MW of wind projects (4 parks) and develops 9 projects for 1600 MW. The US current team has 25 employees, and we plan to grow the team with the business in the short-medium term.

Asset Management Business Unit (ASM) ensures that the assets, individually and as part of a wider portfolio, achieve their maximum technical and financial performance over the short, medium, and long term. We develop our teams so that they ensure the safe and compliant operation of the assets while also proactively identifying and managing risk. Asset management considers the respective interests of the stakeholders (local communities and authorities, service providers, investors, and lenders, etc.) to ensure value creation for all parties.

Job Description

As a ROCC Operator, your main responsibility is to continuously monitor and maintain reliable and efficient operation of solar and wind facilities to ensure compliance with safe operations, electrical system procedures, power sales requirements, contractual and regulatory obligations, and company objectives.

You will have the following missions:

  • Quickly respond to changing conditions to maximize availability, generation, and power sales by operating facilities within all applicable permits and ISO/RTO operations protocols.
  • Visually monitor and read parameters, data points, and sensor outputs at specified intervals to verify operating conditions and to detect faults and malfunctions.
  • Use OEM or Enterprise SCADA (Original Equipment Manufacturer Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) to adjust plant control setpoints such as active and reactive power of the company’s generating units.
  • Adjust manual controls or verify automatic controls to bring equipment into recommended or prescribed operating ranges, based on utility/ISO/customer requirements. Accurately change control equipment setpoints.
  • Record actions taken during shift in operator's logbook or other automated logging mechanisms.
  • Assist maintenance teams to troubleshoot problems and ascertain probable cause.
  • Perform other duties as may be directed by management.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years in power system operations, power production, or related energy operations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, SCADA systems, and network/communications systems.
  • Understanding of the operation and control of power plants. Knowledge of NERC operating policies.
  • Thorough knowledge of power plant equipment, maintenance practices, and principles of operation.
  • Ability to work proactively and productively with limited supervision.
  • Must be able to work other shifts as required, including overtime, rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends as necessary.
