Job Description

As a Roblox Developer at Misfits Gaming Group, you'll be an essential part of our Roblox game development team. You'll work closely with other team members to build compelling gameplay experiences in the Roblox platform. Your role will involve implementing new game features, ensuring code quality, and contributing to the collaborative spirit of our creative community. With your expertise in Roblox Studio and Lua scripting, you'll help bring our virtual worlds to life and engage our global player base.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers, designers, and artists to develop and implement game features in Roblox Studio.
• Write clean, modular Lua code that aligns with game design specifications and best practices.
• Engage in code reviews, learning from senior team members and contributing to improving code quality across the team.
• Identify technical challenges specific to the Roblox platform and propose innovative solutions.
• Assist in training junior developers in Roblox Studio and Lua, sharing best practices and insights.
• Participate in Agile development processes, contributing to effective teamwork and project milestones.
• Support the ongoing evolution of our Roblox-specific development practices and methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Roblox game development, with at least 3 published games on the platform.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira.
• Proficiency in Lua and experience with Roblox Studio; any additional programming languages are a plus.
• Basic understanding of server-client architecture within the Roblox environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Collaborative nature with excellent communication skills, comfortable in team environments.
• A genuine passion for gaming, especially within the Roblox ecosystem.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Roblox’s built-in testing and debugging tools.
• Familiarity with creating or utilizing User Generated Content in Roblox.
• Previous roles or contributions to Roblox communities or developer forums.
• Experience with Roblox monetization strategies, such as Robux transactions and the marketplace.

This full-time position has the flexibility to be remote or based in Boca Raton, FL.
