Overview

Women and Children's Float Pool provides nursing and tech support to clinical areas within Women and Children's Hospital. Our nurses focus on the medical needs and treatment of a broad range of ages from newborn to adults. A thorough orientation is provided on Mother/Baby, Pediatrics, PICU, Women's surgery and RNICU. Each unit has yearly unit specific competencies that must be maintained by the Float Staff. Each unit provides individual education to meet the needs of their patient population. A minimum of 2 years is required.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:

Education: Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing with current Alabama licensure.

Experience: 2 years' experience in any nursing field            

Additional Skill/ Abilities: BLS required before the conclusion of the orientation period. PALS, NRP required within 1 year of hire.
