Job Summary and QualificationsThe Supervisor will assist the manager/director in planning organization, direction and coordination of the clinical and management activities of the department including but not limited to:
· Payroll, productivity reports, employee counseling, interviewing, performance appraisal, personnel files, occurrence reports/investigations and special initiatives.
· Coach staff, serve in charge position/team leader as assigned
· Create assignments based on verified competency
· Supervise and facilitate the provision of safe and therapeutic patient care
· Support the development, implementation and revision of policies and procedures
· Manage human and material resources
· Assist as the clinical resource for department specific medical devices, equipment and complex patient care activities
· Support staffing requirements
· Provide formal and informal development learning activities related to breastfeeding management and serve as an expert consultant to maternal-child staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
· Oversee breast pump rental station
· Support the mission, vision and values of the organization
· Other duties as assigned.
· Graduate from an accredited professional school of nursing.
· Minimum of two years’ experience in maternal-child health nursing in an acute care setting.
· Experience with breastfeeding management required.
· Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license
· IBCLC or Certified Breastfeeding Educator preferred.
· Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider.
· NRP required within 3 months of hire
