Position: Case Manager (RN)
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for acute care case manager management activities, insurance reviews, transfers,
strong knowledge base of DRGs and appropriate admission status. Also demonstrates leadership skills, problem solving
skills, and collaborative skills to work with other healthcare teams, including utilization management activities and
promotion of high-quality cost effective care in a collaborative manner.
Evaluates admissions and hospital’s resource utilization for appropriateness and timeliness. Collaborates
with all members of the healthcare team to assess or coordinate patient and education needs. Completes
all insurance reviews, coordinates multidisciplinary team meetings, and participates in core measure
compliance.

Qualifications
POSITION SUMMARY: Performs the primary function of a surgical scrub nurse in scrubbing, draping, gowning, and maintaining a sterile field for patients undergoing surgery. The scrub nurse will gather all supplies and instrumentation needed for the designated operative procedure according to physician’s preference card and assure all equipment is functioning before its use. Responsible for initiating safety measures in areas of surgical counts, positioning, electrocautery, and medication administration needed to assure patient is free from harm intraoperative/postoperative. The scrub nurse routinely works weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, and/or on an on-call/call-back status. EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
- Currently licensed by the State of Texas as a RN
- Prior scrub nurse experienced preferred, but not required. Will train.
- Must have and maintain current BLS.
