The ARRA Group, a boutique healthcare recruitment firm, has partnered with our community hospital client to hire a compassionate and caring Registered Nurse for Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum (LDRP).
As a Labor DeliveryRegistered Nurse (RN), you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate and expert care to expectant mothers and their newborns throughout the childbirth process. This position demands a unique blend of medical expertise, empathy, and strong communication skills.
LDRP RNs work in a fast-paced and emotionally charged environment, providing support, education, and comfort to patients during one of the most significant moments in their lives.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor the progress of labor, including vital signs, fetal heart rate, and uterine contractions.
- Administer pain management techniques, medications, and assist with epidurals as needed.
- Care for both mother and baby immediately after birth, ensuring their well-being and comfort; Monitor vital signs, perform assessments, and assess for any postpartum complications.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to mothers and their families during labor.
- Assist with the birthing process, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience; Prepare for potential complications and assist in emergency situations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including obstetricians, neonatologists, and pediatricians, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in EHR, including labor progress, medications administered, vital signs, and any complications.
Requirements
- Current RN licensure in the state of New York.
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) is a plus!
- Previous experience in labor and delivery nursing.
