Job description

1. General job duties. Types of procedures required. Types and ages of patients, number of rooms
Long term care skilled nursing facility, pass medications, skilled nursing facility to include IV therapy, feeding tubes, wound vac and wound management, trach care, ostomy care, therapy and restorative
Ages range from mid 30's to mid 90's diagnosis including Huntington's, dementia, Diabetes, Alzheimers, Coronary Artery Disease, vascular disease, rehabilitation, stroke and TIA, neuromuscular disease processes, Dialysis (done at outpatient facility)
160 bed capacity.
2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.) What equipment is attached to the clinic, x-ray, lab or do they have to send out for these? What hospitals will have privileges if any
Campbell County Health is umbrella organization. All labs done at hospital lab and radiology as well. Transportation provided by LTC . Computerized medical record documentation Meditech and medication administration system MedRight, Equipment utilized include VS towers, INR, glucometers, lifts, Bladder scanner, IV pumps, CADD pumps, wound vacs, SCD occasionally, assistive devices
3. Required skills and minimum years of experience. Skills may include anything from Surgical (Ortho, Neuro, CV, etc.) Family Practice, Cardiology, Geriatrics, etc.
Prefer Medsurg and Geriatric experience
4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (BLS, ACLS, NCCPA/AANP) Is a national certification required? Is a DEA, Prescriptive Authority required?
RN, BLS
5. Shift or schedule requirements. (What support staff are in the clinic; Is a doctor available by phone, in the clinic, etc.) Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?
All shifts and weekends are required based on facility need
6. Number of patients in a day; who do they have as support staff?
Nursing work 12 hour shifts with certified nurse aide support. May be functioning as medication administration nurse May be responsible for 20 residents
7. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only) 20 if nursing and doing all medications. 45 if have medication aides
8. Dress Code:
Scrubs, no facial piercings allowed, full sleeve tattoos or objectionable tattoos need to be covered.
9. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.
First day orientation to cover all mandatory compliance orientation. 2 day orientation to specific tasks and procedures.
